the Creator, King and Rescuer with intention and purpose.

What is SongStory™ Curriculum?

SongStory™ is a Bible-based, tried-and-true, 10 Unit 36 lesson curriculum for children in preschool through kindergarten. It was developed for weekly Christian preschool Chapel times and can be adapted for a variety of other settings. The curriculum presents the following foundational Bible truths in line with a school calendar flow:

  • The nature of God and why He created us
  • Creation and its need for redemption
  • Gratitude and service to God
  • Celebration of God’s greatest gift, His Son Jesus
  • Discovering the goodness of trust, obedience and loving God back
  • Jesus as the Good Shepherd who rescues and forgives
  • How Jesus allows us to shine and share His love
  • Living life following the Creator, King, Rescuer’s way

What Makes SongStory™ Unique?

SongStory™ uses creative resources, called SongStory™ Tools, to teach and integrate rich lesson content, presenting God as the Creator, King, and Rescuer.

  • ScripSong” (short, catchy tunes) make Scripture memorization easy and fun.
  • Truth Nuggets” (rhythmic sayings) combine a foundational Bible truth and the scripture memory verse.
  • “KAT” (Kinesthetic Action of a Biblical Truth) Hand motions of biblical principles
  • Uniquely told Bible stories intertwined with original and classic songs.

The curriculum includes the written narrative for each lesson, along with the key lesson focus, learning objectives, SongStory™ Tools, song links, and suggestions for using props to increase attentiveness. It also shows how to use a puppet to review the lesson and prepare for prayer.

The Heart of SongStory™ Chapel

(A Message from Our Founder)

What makes SongStory™ such a valuable resource for the teacher?

  • Each Unit has one main biblical truth per month including scripture and tool set. This streamlines prep time and encourages reinforcement for everyone!
  • The curriculum follows the school calendar year and each unit reinforces the next.
  • Over 70 video links are provided for the SongStory™ Tools songs, and story components. The videos become an ever-present training resource, and the Chapel Teacher can watch them as many times as necessary to learn the tools.
  • As the Chapel Teacher moves through the school year, the teacher acquires a “toolbox” of resources (the ScripSongs, Truth Nuggets, and K.A.T.s that can be easily memorized) for review and reinforcement at Chapel time and in the classroom.
  • The curriculum includes the written narrative for each lesson, along with the Key Lesson Focus, Learning Objectives, SongStory™ Tools, song links, and suggestions for using props to increase attentiveness. The use of puppets to review the lesson and prepare for prayer are part of the closing format.

What Teachers And Parents Are Saying About SongStory

Amy Olthouse - Preschool Director & Chapel Teacher

I have been working with and teaching young children for over 25 years.  Prior to finding, Song Story Curriculum, our lessons lacked enthusiasm and excitement.  Song Story has truly turned our weekly Chapel into a captivating and engaging experience for our preschool! Parents stop me in the hallways and share how excited they are about what their child is learning in chapel.   Each lesson is created to build upon the prior week’s concepts allowing children to actively reinforce biblical truths. The use of sign language, interactive songs and props make our chapel a delightful and attentive learning experience for our preschool students.    Lessons are well thought out and developmentally appropriate for young minds and hearts.   If you are looking for a bible curriculum to transform your chapel and young hearts, THIS is it!

As a friend and co-worker of Sue’s for many years, I have witnessed first-hand the impact her teaching has on young children. Through drama, singing, music and movement, Bible stories, puppets and visual aids, Sue’s curriculum reaches the hearts of young children. During our mid-week Bible Study and MOPS programming, pre-school children attend a worship time where Song Story curriculum has been implemented. The children are actively engaged while singing, memorizing Scripture, and learning the fundamental Truths about our wonderful God and Savior Jesus Christ. Many parents have commented about their children singing Scripture and worship songs throughout the week. It’s truly a blessing to have access to a well-laid out curriculum plan which enables me to teach our little ones at Crossroads Bible Church.

As a teacher, mother and grandmother I have seen Sue’s curriculum change lives and save precious souls. Sharing God’s Amazing Word through songs, dancing and stories is a beautiful sight to behold. The children absorb so much of Jesus Truth and thoroughly enjoy themselves. They are truly captivated! Wherever you are in your Walk of Faith, no matter your age, this will transform your life. It is with immense Joy and Gratitude I highly recommend every child having the opportunity to learn about Jesus Love through this precious gift found in SongStory curriculum.

Sue, Thank you for teaching my children about God this year! It was incredible to watch the Big Review and your special enthusiasm during the all class chapel! The lessons you are teaching truly have a eternal impact on their sweet souls. Alec speaks fondly of you all the time and sings the songs at home! Blessings!

Cathy Mullen

As a preschool teacher, my classes have been blessed having Sue teach chapel time to them for over the past 7 years. Sue has a very special style of teaching that combines creative story telling with music and motion to create a captivating, engaging, fun, and most importantly bible-based chapel time for young children. Sue is incredibly gifted by God to reach children with deep, fundamental biblical truths and principals at a level of their own understanding, enabling them to process God’s word and then apply it into their daily lives

As far back as I can remember, song has been part of my life. And I find I can’t sing a song without wanting to tell a story, and I can’t tell a story without wanting to sing a song.
