As far back as I can remember, song has been part of my life. And I find I can’t sing a song without wanting to tell a story, and I can’t tell a story without wanting to sing a song.

I grew up on a farm in eastern Oregon, with wide vistas and plenty of room for imagination – an ideal place for singing songs and having adventurous story that will always be etched in my soul. In college the guitar added richness to my song, and it was there my life changed forever when I met the Creator, King, and Rescuer. Now I had His story to tell and His song to sing.

For the past thirty-five years He has allowed me to teach His Word to children with a heart and passion that can only come from Him. While serving as classroom teacher, writer, producer, and director, I searched for ways to reach young hearts with God’s truth. During the last fifteen years I focused on preschoolers serving as Chapel Teacher. It was during that time the Lord helped me develop lessons for an entire school year, using song and story to teach foundational biblical truths in an intentional sequence. SongStory Curriculum is the outcome of all of these years.

Amidst this song and story, I am grateful for the full life the Lord has granted me – my marriage of forty years, three children with a son and daughter-in-law, and 5 delightful grandchildren. Add a happy to frolic in big yard, hands in the soil to grow flowers, miniature pony, grand puppy, reading, road trips – and you’ve got me.

It is my hope and prayer that SongStory will be something that touches your own soul, while shaping the hearts of little ones toward loving and knowing God.

This is my story, this is my song.
